My work
I’ve broken down the body of my photography into these portfolio categories. I’ve been taking photos since 1990! However, I stopped for a few years while attending Northern Illinois University. After graduating in 1995, I regained my enthusiasm for the visual arts, including web design, graphic design, photography, and photo editing. My goal with photography isn’t to take pictures of just anything. I strive to create photos of unusual subjects or places.
My subjects and interests
My photographic journey began by sneaking into abandoned factories and facilities in Southern Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Acme Steel’s Coke Plant and the First Methodist Church in Gary, Indiana, were the most interesting places I photographed. I also enjoy taking long exposure night photos in downtown Chicago, as well as scenic panorama photos in the American Southwest. As of 2022, I’ve begun experimenting with drone photography of Chicago.
